VOLUME 3
Community sample mayhem!
Provide original samples, and use the community pack on your compilation track!
1. About
First of all: yes, we can count to three.
Second: we're back for a non-profit and open-source tracker music compilation!
This time, we're doing a 'sample jam' before accepting track submissions. This means everyone can contribute with their own homebrew samples, which will be carefully selected and placed into a free-to-download pack.
In short, the Community Sample Pack should be used as the starting point for all track submissions.
Needless to say, we're all very excited for the samples and tracks. The first two TRACKERCORPS volumes were filled with absolute bangers from our small community, ranging from Techno to Breakcore - all cooked in trackers.
Anyways, let me just refresh your memory:
If you're new here and still have no idea what this is about, take a few minutes to look around our humble website.
2. What the HECKJ is a sample jam?
This is a classic concept in tracker communities and a great way to get involvement from the server at large. Those who may not have time to contribute with a track can help create samples that others will use for their submission and vice-versa (being credited on the release page, of course).
You may be thinking:
“Won’t this mean all the songs will sound the same?”
Fuck no, we’re not talking about some Jungle-Jungle loop-a-doop shit (bro chill).
Sample some hardware, resample VSTi’s, run them through FX chains, resequence some breaks, provide some acid loops. Pick the best ones and send them our way!
Don't sample existing songs - we want to avoid the copyright bs.
Once we have the samples, we’ll select a small team of users to help us go through the sample submissions to ensure we have a nice toolkit for everyone to work with.

4. Sample Categories
We ask that for any sample you provide the note/chord and tempo (if applicable). Loop points are OK, but please ensure it is a sample and not a Renoise instrument. Not all of our members utilize Renoise for production. Don’t dump samples from other packs, we want fresh samples to work with that aren’t copyrighted or freely available! This is a DIY initiative, after all.
We’ll break down the samples into the following categories:
- Bass
- Breaks
-
Drum Hits
- Cymbals
- Hats
- Kicks
- Snares
- Toms
- Other percussive sounds
- FX/Noise
- Glitches
- Leads
- Pads
- Synth Loops
- Vox

Please do not sample existing songs. We want to avoid copyright bs. Keep it original and creative commons.
5. Submission Guidelines
Submission must be made in a tracker.
The project file must be shared (e.g., xrns, it, mod...) alongside the audio render. For hardware trackers (Polyend, M8, NerdSeq, etc.), recording a video of the sequencer is enough.
All instruments and sounds must be created using the provided samples.
3rd party FX plugins are allowed, but should be "printed" into samples. This means the project cannot have VST dependencies. It should be fully playable from start to finish on any computer without the need to install any plugins.
No genre/BPM restrictions, but we HIGHLY encourage experimentation. The weirder, the better. Trust your rephlexes and rave 'till you cry.
Unreleased tracks only.
Suggested track length: minimum 2:30 / maximum 5:00.
Collabs are allowed.
6. File Requirements
Audio format: WAV (preferably 16-24 bits but any will do)
Samplerate: 44khz - 48khz
Max. peak: -6 db
Suggested Length: 2:30 - 5:00
Don't forget to include the mod/it/xrns/etc.

7. Pre-master render instructions
Disable all the mastering effects in your master channel if you’re using any (specifically: compressors, limiters, equalizers, high/low-pass filters, and clippers). All tracks will be mastered before release, so we need renders without clipping/compression!
- No problem if your track is clipped for aesthetic reasons (e.g., breakcore, hardcore, etc.). If your track is supposed to be distorted, then let it be.
- Keep any creative effects. Bypass only the mastering ones.
Jump to the loudest part of your track and hit play. Let it play for a bit while checking the peak values.
Turn down the master fader until your peak is no louder than -6dB.
Render your song.
(Optional) If needed, send a second render with your own master. We’ll use it as a reference.
8. Licensing
- By submitting your music to TRACKERCORPS, you agree to have your music published and distributed for free, under a CC BY-NC license (see below), in the following places, with NO MONETIZATION INVOLVED: Bandcamp, SoundCloud, Soulseek and YouTube.
- CC BY-NC: The license enables reusers to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format for noncommercial purposes only, and only so long as attribution/credits are given to the creator.
- You may withdraw your submissions at any time.
- Artists still hold all the rights for their music. They can “re-release” tracks in other places and do whatever they want to them.
- Trackercorps is a non-profit community. Our goal is to aggregate electronic music made by a diverse cast of underground tracker artists, contributing to a stronger sense of community and collaboration (especially through our Discord server). This means free downloads and no profits involved!
